Burn That Ouija Board!

Ó 2008 By Kirby Robinson

“I didn’t think I did anything wrong it was just a game we only wanted to see if this spirit stuff was real. They only wanted to stay the night we said yes and all hell broke loose.” Those aren’t lines from a movie script from the next slasher/stalker movie playing down at the local Cineplex. But the quote you’ve just read is all too real. They were spoken by a young lady who hired me to clean out her home as a group of demons came to live with her while she and her friends played with a “cute little ouija board” after a Saturday night of heavy drinking. By Sunday, the house was a mess, one “hell” of a mess I tell you.

You can walk into Toys R Us and buy one in the “games” department. Thanks to the Internet, you can play with a virtual one. (The invitation to a demon over the ‘net allows the demon to cross over your threshold). You can surf many online stores and choose from a variety of ouija boards ranging from deluxe high-end versions, antiques, glow-in-the-dark boards, glass-topped ones, all the way down to the old Parker Brothers classic board. No matter what version it is, it all spells trouble for you, your home, your children’s life, your life, and your blood. It’s no game. It can lead you into a costly situation paying for the services of a person such as myself, to clean up the mess, or even worse, it can lead to your death.

Spirit boards have been around since the beginning of time. In ancient Greece, Egypt, and Babylon, they used them to contact the deities and departed loved ones and to barter deals with the dead. The Roman Emperor Valens used a spiritual board device to talk to the Roman gods in the 4th century. During the 1800s a form of spirit board was developed by using a turned over wineglass, preferably used, and letters were arranged across the surface of a table. At the height of the Spiritualist Movement, the great American thinker and writer, William James, endeavored to use such boards in his quest to prove that the spiritual world was real.

Back in 1891 Elijah J. Bond got the first patent for the modern board. A few years later, William Fuld purchased the rights to the board, and after his accidental death in 1927 (he fell off the roof of his three-story factory while erecting a flagpole), his first-born son, William A. Fuld, headed his company. In 1942, the youngest son, Hubert, became the president of the company and then sold the entire business to Parker Brothers in 1966. Parker Brothers opened a factory in Salem, Massachusetts to produce the boards. There is some confusion about the name ouija and its origins. Some report that it is a combination of two words for yes, oui in French, and ja is Dutch and German. Others contend that one of the developers of the board got the name from an Egyptian god who spoke through the board during a séance: ouija meant “good luck.” Well, good luck, my butt, Hasbro Games bought out Parker Brothers in 1991 and continues to produce the “game.”

Folks, this tool for spiritual communication is no game and SHOULD only be used by people who have studied the spiritual world long and hard. You must be able to discern and test the spirits that you communicate with on this board. Spirits will lie just like people. A dark spirit/demon will latch onto a board and via their spiritual warfare tactics (see my previous blog "Spiritual Warfare") and be or say anything you want from a god to just a friendly little ghost to a dear dead relative. They will lie, and very effectively lie. They will tell the truth if they know it and give you more details than you could ever imagine in order to prove that they are trustworthy. They will make bad and good things happen to show that their predictions are correct. All for one thing – an invitation into your home or person. And once they get it, they then will run rampant through your life trying to destroy everything around you.

One of the biggest DON’TS when it comes to these boards is to never use them in a cemetery. I don’t want to elaborate too much, but it’s a spiritual free for all when it comes to this lethal combination. So if you do hang out in cemeteries, make sure you don’t bring along a ouija board. Another big DON’T -- never use the board after you’ve been drinking alcohol or using drugs, because it’s very easy for a spirit/demon to alter perceptions. And the final big DON’T is to never use it between the hours of midnight and 3 a.m. as that’s when the dark forces are at their peak powers.

If you have a ouija board, get rid of it. But just don’t throw it away in the trash. One of my clients did that and the thing kept coming back, even if she tossed it out of her car miles away from home. When she returned to her house she was amazed to find it was waiting for her on the kitchen table. So how do you get rid of a ouija board?

1. Say prayers of cleansing over the board, Hail Marys, Our Fathers, anything to drive the negative spirits away.
2. Clean it with Holy Water if at all possible. As you cleanse it, say prayers of your choice but insert the withdrawal of any invitations made to the spirit through the board.
3. Burn the thing ASAP after the prayers. (If it’s a plastic board there wont be any ashes.) And dump the ashes off your property.

Ouija boards or spirit boards are not fun and games, even though they’re promoted that way. They can and have caused a life full of troubles. There are better ways to talk to spirits than via a ouija board. Take the time to learn them. If not, stay away from the spiritual realm or you might get more than you bargained for.

Spiritual Warfare

Copyright 2008 By Kirby Robinson

Recently my inbox has been flooded with messages from people who have been asking me about an experience I’ll refer to as “repeat cleansings.” What’s this? Well, it seems as though people have had their property, businesses, or the physical body cleansed of demons/dark spirits. Yet the spirit often returns after only a few months requiring another cleansing? And many find that this turns into an endless cycle of cleansing, returns, cleansing, and returns, over and over again.

Why is this, asks one concerned person. “I only thought it took one exorcism or cleansing to get rid of the spirit and then they were gone for good.” And my response is:

1. The person doing the spiritual extraction may not really know what they’re doing. Or sadly, they may be conning the client of hundreds of dollars, and not have any spiritual ability whatsoever. And the demon itself may be participating in the con because it allows them to stay there even longer, getting their hooks into the person or property, even deeper. So the demon acts like it’s gone, but in reality it’s never left.
2. The demon’s return may be due to a failure to engage in effective spiritual warfare. We who are believers in the light of truth, love, compassion, and service found that any pathway one may choose to attain their spiritual rewards must be on guard constantly to monitor our spiritual armor and protection. Not to do so opens doors to allow the dark forces to draw near.

Spiritual warfare is not only fought on the spiritual front but must be fought on three fronts 24/7. We must fight it on the level of the flesh, the world, and Lucifer with his demons.

Our bodies, the flesh, made up of not only blood and bones but also brain and mind. The mind located within our brain allows the spirit and the soul located in all of us to connect to the physical world.

And it’s due to this that our ego, located in the mind, which allows our flesh when left unguarded to permit evil to draw closer through the following misdeeds:

1. Immorality: nothing is wrong for us to do if it feels good, so then do it. If it feels so good it can’t be bad, we tell ourselves.
2. Impurity: it’s all right to lie with “proper” motivation behind the lie.
3. Sensuality: I must make my body happy, what it wants I must get.
4. Anger & jealousy: letting uncontrolled outbursts of anger and jealousy hurt others and ourselves.

Any of the above actions of the flesh, if engaged in, may allow evil forces to cross the gate and into our lives. The gate can be slammed shut on two levels. 1. If one is walking a spiritual path governed by the promise of protection and salvation through a savior, then his/her name must be called on and prayers made to their god. 2. Those who walk with the path of “self” regulation, Buddhism for example, must put forth meditation, chanting, prostrations, empowerments, and tantric practices.

The world, this physical plane that we live in has a philosophy that desires to tie the flesh to it via many different systems. Commercialism, consumerism, capitalism, fascism, communism, and humanism are all tools that makes us think that the rewards are here, outside of us forcing our energies away from what we nee to focus on. Throughout the long history of this world we see Lucifer and his demonic forces manifesting evil organizations and governments in every period of its history and serving atop them are men and women bent on breaking the good in all. We see ideas borne in this world that reject spirituality altogether or seek to destroy it. This is a selfish world we are in, if we begin to serve what the world tells us is important then our spirit cannot focus on our own spiritual needs, and it doesn’t allow us to focus on the spiritual needs of others.

Tools to overcome this world.

1. If your path is one of salvation and redemption it is like what the Bible says: “Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s.” Matthew 22:21
2. Self-regulation path will include: meditation, chanting, prayers, prostrations, tantric practices, and for the Buddhists, focus on the Four Noble Truths.

Lucifer and his demons.

They are there along with other dark forces. We must have knowledge about their power, and we must not be afraid. I’ve written about their power and structure in a previous blog entitled “The World of Fallen Angels” but will focus on the tools that they use in their spiritual warfare against the people who follow the Light.

1. Demons seek to oppose the truth, they seek to halt our understanding of it, blind our minds, close our ears, and hinder spiritual practices.
2. Demons engage in direct hand-to-hand combat with each one of us.
3. Demons will accuse and slander others to us as well to ourselves.
4. Demons will sell us on defeat as our only choice in life.
5. Demons seek to tell us it is better to rebel and not work as one.
6. Demons will focus on getting us to violate, as often as they can, the 10 Commandments.
7. Demons will incite prejudice, racism, and persecution.
8. Demons will seek to build walls of legalism amongst the paths of salvation and liberation.

How can we defeat evil? No matter what path we walk, here are three effective ways:

1. Seek spiritual teaching.
2. Apply that teaching to practices of our path.
3. Resist evil boldly.

In closing, I would like to leave you with one of my favorite quotes from the film, “Kundun.” This is from the scene where the young 14th Dalai Lama is about to escape from religious persecution from the communists. As he is about to leave his home, one of his friends and employees, Norbu, wisely says to the Dalai Lama: “The gods will win, the devils will lose.”

December 21, 2012 – What Will Really Happen?

Copyright 2008 By Kirby Robinson

This topic is a little bit of a departure from what I normally discuss, but my spirit guides have been pushing me to address this issue. I’m sure that most of you know about December 21, 2012 and all the speculation as to what will happen on that date. The dozens of books, thousands of web sites, and countless conferences where you can spend up to $200 hearing speaker after speaker pronouncing the forthcoming doomsday, are all warning us about some very big changes. After attending that seminar, you can visit the lobby filled with profiteering vendors offering every imaginable type of survival kit on earth, as well as survival kits that will prepare you to survive in the spiritual realm.

For those of you living under a rock, or watching the endless hours of “American Idol”, I will briefly catch you up on the whole controversy. On December 21, 2012, the Mayan calendar comes to an end, as well as numerous other religious cycles come to a conclusion. The planets align in a very peculiar manner and December 21st is Winter Solstice. Numerous psychics, scientists, and new agers, predict catastrophic changes, in not only the planet, but also the universe and throughout the spiritual realms. We also face a society that could break into chaos and bloodshed. Alarmed yet? So was I when my spirit guides showed me what will happen.

On the dreaded morning of December 21st, striking Australia first, the ocean waters will begin to rise, and as the water pulls away, the land bridge that at one time connected Australia and its nearby islands will begin to reemerge. When the land bridge thrusts out of the ocean, it reconnects to the Asian continent. The heaving and swelling tsunamis that embroil the Pacific Ocean casts boats, ships, ocean liners, and oil tankers into the air, and mass destruction will follow.

In China, there will be major earthquakes so strong that dams will break, cities will flood, and nuclear power plants will break open releasing toxic gas. The Chinese military assures the populace that the nation is under attack, and will launch missiles at both Japan and Russia, eliminating Japan off the face of the earth. As missiles rain down onto Eastern Russia, the problems will be compounded by large landmasses in Siberia breaking apart and massive steam vents erupting, which will melt the frozen tundra, causing massive flooding.

India will see colossal earthquakes and volcanoes rising out of the earth in a few seconds. Millions will die as mass rioting and stampedes of whole populations flee. The Middle East finally goes through an all out nuclear war. Israel and the Arab Nations will unleash a nuclear holocaust so great that the entire section of that area will be under a nuclear cloud. The Great Pyramids of Giza will turn to dust, and the mighty Sphinx will be no more. Earthquakes will work their way down to South Africa, unleashing locusts buried so long they are the size of eagles, and they begin attacking the population. Europe will pull apart from Asia and within hours smash into the British Isles. In the Americas, from the tip of Canada to the bottom of South America, it will be utter mayhem on a scale never before witnessed by mankind.

No, folks, wait a minute, I can’t take it any longer. I must tell you the truth of what will happen on December 21, 2012. No chaos will hit society in any form whatsoever. Nothing out of the natural will happen outside of normal every day events. People doing their Christmas shopping, going to work, playing in the snow, and living their lives. So please, for your sake, save your money. Say no to those overpriced doomsday books, pass on those all day conferences filled with authors that are preying on our fears and spinning tales of insanity and madness in order to increase their bank accounts. Tell those fear mongers who put together lousy end-of-the-world videos to get lost. Remember how we were told over and over again that the harmonic convergence meant the end of the world? Y2K was supposed to be the end of all mankind, and that 9/11 was the start of the End Times. What horrific events happened on 6/06/06? Oh, and to go back in time, wasn’t the world supposed to end in 1958? In fact, check out this helpful site, The Library of Date Setters for the End of the World, where they list more than 200 doomsday predictions! Check out the Library of Date Setters And yet, we are still here. And life goes on. Yes, one day the end will come. And catastrophes will strike the planet. Someday, but not in 2012, or 12/21/21. (Wanna bet a few will claim it was all due to some sort of spiritual dyslexia?) Not even 12/21/75. Spend the next four years of your life spreading love and compassion, and set your spirits free from the fear of what will happen on December 21, 2012.

The World of Fallen Angels

C 2008 By Kirby Robinson

"For our struggles is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Eph. 6-12

Recently, I had a case of demonic possession that was rather nasty. One of the persons that brought me into the situation asked me a few thought provoking questions concerning demons prior to the start of the exorcism. I thought I would share them with you, along with the answers.

Are demons all-powerful?
No. Demons are not all powerful nor are they all knowing or ever-present. A demon by itself is not a very smart creature. But, they can be very cunning and devious. And all demons share in the power of confusion in their arsenal of tricks. A demon by itself has limited powers. But, as you move up in hierarchy they grow in abilities and powers. This is why many times you will see a person or property possessed by multiple demons. And just like bees, they thrive in hives. Many weak demons will bind themselves together to create a power source that they don’t have as individual demons. And when they are attacked, just like any army, they can call on reserves, which will usually bring in a higher-ranking demon to support them. Demons, contrary to what a lot of people tell you, cannot be in more than one place at one time. Thus, demons operate like a spy network and will share information with each other. (Interestingly enough, when demons impart knowledge to one another, this is the only time they can be absolutely honest!) Also, demons do have a habit of pretending to be a demon that they’re not. One other ability that all demons share on some level is the power of telepathy.

Is there a power structure within the demonic world?
As to the power structure of the forces of darkness, here is something that might step on people’s shoes, but all my spirit guides have shared this fact with me. Lucifer, the Devil, and Satan are not the same entity. Hell and heaven are mirror images of each other. Heaven has a holy trinity, hell has an unholy trinity. (This subject will be discussed in a later blog). Here are the Five Levels of Power in hell.
1st Level of Power - Satan, Devil, and Lucifer.
2nd Level of Power - Generals in the army, also known as the Rulers.
3rd Level of Power - Commanders and captains, also known as the Authorities.
4th Level of Power – Lieutenants, also known as Powers of this Dark World.
5th Level of Power - Foot soldiers, also known as Spiritual Forces of Evil.

Do demons specialize in abilities and powers?
Here is a partial list, (there are far too many to mention in one blog), of different types of spiritual demons I’ve encountered. Their names will easily indicate the impact that they have on people. But I will try to explain the impact that they have on property.

1. Infirmity/Weakness spirits - if the spirit possesses a property, you’d find one that is in constant turmoil over illness, spiritual and physical weaknesses, death, injury, blood, and violence.
2. Mute spirits – these spirits make it difficult to think, read, write, and communicate in general. Oftentimes, electrical equipment will malfunction.
3. Dumb spirits – creativity is stymied on the property, for example, a business fails because of the lack of new, innovative, or even logical ideas.
4. Distressing spirits – people will find themselves constantly worrying about major as well as trivial matters, and one will never find peace and comfort when they step on such property.
5. Foul spirits – property will always have a nasty or terrible smell, like the sulfur pits of hell have opened up.
6. Unclean spirits – property always in a state of constant mess, and infested by rodents and insects.
7. Bondage spirits – this is where you will find pack rat conditions as nothing ever gets thrown away.
8. Deceiving spirits – it feels like a sense of distrust is prevalent on a property possessed by deceiving spirits. They will use the tools of jealousy and lies to make their presence known.
9. Fearful/Sorrowful spirits – when you step onto property that is possessed by such demons, this is when they’ll try to manifest themselves as ghosts and monsters. People who try to sleep at the property will be haunted by nightmares.
10. Harlot spirits – when a person sets foot onto the property they are driven by their sexual instincts, lustful thoughts, and desires to cheat on their loved ones for no explicable reason. It is interesting to note that these demons, if allowed to possess a person, will invite one of the more powerful demons, which is an incubus demon. The incubus then desires to enter the person or animal, and engage in uncontrolled sex.

I hope this has been helpful in answering some things that might have been bothering any of you, or people that you know. Please keep in mind that this is just a partial list of spirits, there are actually hundreds! But these are the ones I’ve encountered the most frequently.

Metaphysical Thoughts on Heath Ledger’s Death

Ó 2008 By Kirby Robinson

The world witnessed a reinforcement of the often-used phrase, “the good die young” with the loss of Australian actor Heath Ledger on January 22, 2008. This blog has not been written to judge the man for the choices he made in his personal life, but to focus on one of the films that he starred in back in 2003.

“The Order” also known as “The Sin Eater” was the story of the battle between good and evil via a confrontation between Heath’s character, Alex Bernier, the last priest in the ancient lineage of Carolingian priests, who have been trained in dealing with ghosts and demons, and a sin eater, William Eden, for his soul.

What is a sin eater? A person who is a spiritual healer who takes on all the sins that a dying person has accumulated over his/her lifetime, bringing that person to a state of purity free from any sin. The history of sin eating is a murky one and full of contradictions, dead ends, and secrets. The Roman Catholic Church didn’t strongly advocate sin eaters for political and spiritual reasons, because:

1. The sin eaters were loaded down with the sins they were carrying.
2. Priests were supposed to administer Last Rites to the dying.

To perform his (or her) sin eating duties and save the soul from going to hell or wandering the earth as a ghost, the sin eater’s ritual consists of eating bread from the chest of the sinner’s body, directly over the heart, and may also eat salt or drink water or ale. In some cases, the meal is passed over the body of the dying person. A prayer usually accompanies the ritual.

The origins of sin eating have been around for centuries and the English, Welsh, Dutch, Bavarian and Balkan cultures all cite evidence of sin eaters living within their countries.

In Tibetan Buddhism, the term Bodhicitta is derived from the Sanskrit terms Bodhi= Enlightened being, Citta=Mind. The person who is on the path of becoming a Bodhisattva genuinely wishes to attain Buddhahood (Enlightenment) to benefit not only him or herself, but all other sentient beings in all realms of existence, which would naturally include those suffering in the human, animal, hungry ghost, and hell realms.

Often when we view movies on the subject of other aspects of popular culture or personal self-conduct, we think that since it is not real, it’s just pretend, just acting, and it carries no consequences, (karma, the law of cause and effect). The same thing goes for us, for those of us who aren’t actors, if we should joke around about making a deal with the devil to get what we want, to the anger of speaking the words “damn you” to someone who cuts us off in traffic. If an actor is playing the role of a priest who confronts and battles evil, imagine what the results might be.

The history of cursed movies such as: Rosemary’s Baby, The Omen, Superman, Poltergeist, The Exorcist, and The Crow and their resultant string of tragedies and casualties serve as examples of what happens when doors are opened for actors that should remain closed. Apparently Mr. Ledger must have been battling some personal demon through his drug abuse. It’s possible there might have been a few unholy entities drawn to him through his role in “The Order.” Ironically, when we first meet Heath’s character, the young priest is living and practicing in New York City. And where did Heath Ledger die…?

Just a little metaphysical musing …

R.I.P Heathcliff Andrew Ledger, 4/4/79 – 1/22/08.

No Haunting is a “Good” Haunting

C 2008 By Kirby Robinson

Do you have a friend or relative that you grew up with that you remained close to for years? Someone you loved like she was your mother – or even better if you didn’t get along with your mother – a person you respected and couldn’t envision being without?

Now, let’s all pretend we have someone like that in our lives. Pretend this fine person is called Aunt Sarah. Imagine she’s the most compassionate person in your neighborhood, and she is always willing to listen to your problems and when she does give advice it’s useful. Combine that gift with her ability to cook like all the best chefs and cooks you see on certain TV shows/channels. Not only is Aunt Sarah a whiz in the kitchen, she transfers her love of culinary competence right over to you. And she never forgets your birthday, in fact, this woman bakes you a special cake, always knowing your preferred flavors. And her Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers are legendary. Thing is, you got so used to her, even after you left home, that you never really thought much about what would happen when she was no longer around.

Sadly, one day death came calling for her, as we all know it’ll come for us, and when Aunt Sarah died, you were very saddened by the news. You were there for her funeral, and when her casket was lowered into the ground, you wondered how you’d ever live without your dear Aunt Sarah.

Let’s take this story down the road a few years. By now your lifestyle has changed and you have your own family. You decide to imitate your Aunt Sarah one Thanksgiving by hosting a big get together of family and friends. You’ve been in the kitchen all day doing the cooking and everything’s going well, thanks to writing down Aunt Sarah’s recipes and recreating them. The dinner is a huge success, as the food is good and the atmosphere is pleasant, okay, maybe some liquid refreshments helped it along. Then, one of the guests complains about a draft that’s suddenly all too obvious. Maybe it’s someone who is naturally cold-blooded, or they just like to gripe. You smile, glad that someone is aware of your favorite aunt’s presence. “Oh that’s Aunt Sarah!” you inform the startled guest. “She always comes around when I cook and bake with her recipes.”

Now you’re able to keep your guests entertained with tales of Aunt Sarah’s “hauntings” and one of the other guests asks: “Why not help Aunt Sarah move on?”

But you don’t agree with that theory. “No, we just love having Aunt Sarah around here.”

Now, think about what that means. Aunt Sarah hangs out at your place 24/7, but she only makes her presence known at certain times. Can you imagine how bored she is? Sure, she’s quite fond of the people that live in that house, but what can she do other than move some dishes or flit around near someone who can sense her, and then they just complain about a draft? How does this benefit Aunt Sarah? It doesn’t. Imagine that you had a full time job you disliked intensely, something repetitive and unskilled, requiring no creativity, imagination, or intelligence. The best part of the day came when you punched out on the time clock. But no matter how much you loathed your job, you generally didn’t have to put up with it all day/night/weekends, year in, and year out. If things got too rough, you could usually find a less boring job. But Aunt Sarah doesn’t have that option. She’s bound to remain on that property, or in that home, for a lot longer than most people remain in jobs they can’t stand. Aunt Sarah may love the people she “haunts” but in reality she’s stuck there with no pay and no time off, until she’s freed to go to the bardo state where she’ll be able to find out where her next rebirth will occur. Hopefully, she’ll be reborn in the human realm, and possibly she’ll return to you as your child, or relative, or neighbor.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who advertise the fact that they own or run a “haunted” hotel, bed & breakfast, restaurant, historical society, etc., where they exploit the ghosts of the past. They think it’s colorful and it adds money to their bank account. And they may even think it’s fun to have spirit(s) hanging around and dancing, and/or making noises. Having a haunting is profitable and fun.

The only good haunting is no haunting. I’m writing these words as I stand behind what they mean. Yes, I think shows like “Ghost Hunters” and “Paranormal State” are educational and well put together. I appreciate anything that realistically and factually sheds light onto the paranormal, but it’s getting to the point where having a haunted house or a spirit tied to your physical premises is put on the same level as a car in the driveway or a computer in every home, and it’s not.

Spirits that are still walking the earth and engaging in behavior that gets them noticed need something. Since they seek attention, they choose to get it by knocking things over. They have issues that need to be resolved. They need peace, hence the term: Rest In Peace. But all earth-bound spirits have lessons to be learned, and that’s why they’re unable to enter the bardo state when they die. The lessons usually concern the three poisons, see the blog: "Poisonous Mind, Possessed Property" and those really have to be settled so they’re able to progress through the bardo state to gain whatever rebirth awaits them.

I’m not saying we should run around willy-nilly dehaunting homes, offices, property, parks, graveyards, hotels, etc. on our own. But at the same time we need to educate the public about what a haunting actually is all about. To the commercial folks out there, who make money off of the dead, just let them rest in peace. Put yourself in the spirits’ situation, and think of how you would feel being stuck in a small area for eternity…you know there are better places out there, right? Let’s free as many spirits as we can so they can all take their steps towards enlightenment. The more we help them, the more we ultimately help ourselves.
